ROBOTIC SURGERY

Immerse yourself in a new era of surgical excellence at GEM Hospital’s Robotic Surgery unit, redefining the standards of care. Experience the tangible benefits of significantly reduced pain, minimal blood loss, and fewer complications.
Our approach features small, dime-sized incisions for minimal scarring, ensuring not just a medical intervention but a transformative journey. From Hysterectomy to Bariatric Surgery and Hernia Repairs, our adept surgeons employ the da Vinci system for precision, making healthcare at GEM Hospital a beacon of well-being.

Our dedication to minimally invasive procedures unfolds with the state-of-the-art da Vinci Robotic Surgical System. Tailored for enhanced precision, this innovative technology empowers our surgeons with high-definition 3D vision and a magnified view. The surgeon seamlessly controls the robotic system, translating hand movements into meticulous actions within the patient’s body.

Minimally invasive procedures give you a smart getaway toward a healthy life.

The da Vinci Robotic Surgical System is designed to provide surgeons with enhanced capabilities, including high-definition 3D vision and a magnified view. The surgeon controls the robot as it translates his or her hand movements into smaller, more precise movements of tiny instruments inside the patient’s body.

DISEASE AND TREATMENT

BENEFITS OF ROBOTIC SURGERY
Significantly less pain Less blood loss and fewer blood transfusions Fewer complications and risk of infection Shorter hospital stay Faster recovery and return to normal activities Small, dime-sized incisions for minimal scarring Surgeries that can be performed Hysterectomy (Removal of the uterus) Bariatric Surgery (Surgery for Obesity & Diabetes) Hernia Repairs (inguinal/incisional).
WHAT IS MINIMALLY INVASIVE ROBOTIC SURGERY?
Minimally invasive surgery means that traditional large open incisions are not necessary. Instead, small incisions are made to access the area of the body requiring treatment so that surgeons specially trained in laparoscopic techniques can use tiny devices containing cameras to view the area, manipulate the tissue and perform the necessary surgical intervention.
Taking that one step further is robotic surgery in which the surgeon views the body’s intricate anatomy under high-powered magnification while using the robot’s superior tools and maneuverability, smaller and more flexible than the human hand, at a separate console to perform the entire procedure. The addition of robotic technology provides surgeons with revolutionary instruments enabling them to perform more complex procedures using a minimally invasive approach than ever before.

Robotic surgery offers a number of advantages over traditional open surgery, including

  • Robotic surgery allows surgeons to perform complex procedures through small incisions, which can lead to less pain, scarring, and blood loss.
  • Patients who undergo robotic surgery typically recover more quickly than patients who undergo traditional open surgery.
  • Robotic surgery has a lower risk of complications than traditional open surgery.
