About Doctor
Dr Vanmathy is a qualified anaesthesiologist and Intensivist with more than 16 years of experience in anesthetic management of patients undergoing major / complex abdominal, hepatobiliary, bariatric, thoracoscopic esophagectomy (VATS), orthopedic surgeries, oncological, robotic, gynaec and obstetric surgeries. Has extensive experience in handling getiatric, pediatric and super morbid obese patients coming for any surgery. She is trained in managing difficult airway scenarios and can do Fiberoptic bronchoscopy guided intubations. She has good experience in perioperative management of organ transplant patients.
Dr Vanmathy has successfully completed her fellowship (super specialization) in Interventional pain management and has more than 13 years of experience as Consultant pain physician in treating Cancer pain, Chronic pain syndromes, Spine and disc related pain, Joint pains and musculoskeletal pain.
She is an expert in performing image-guided pain interventions performed to cure patients suffering from long-standing pain. She provides minimally invasive Pain and Spine Interventions (MIPSI) for back pain, disc herniation, sciatica, neck and shoulder pains, joint pains, knee arthritis, nerve-related pain, cancer pain and palliative services. She has high volume experience in ultrasound guided musculoskeletal (MuSK), Sports injuries and Regenerative medicine. She offers Fluoroscopy guided Coeliac plexus block, Splanchnic Radiofrequency ablation, Superior hypogastric plexus block, Ganglion impar block for gastrointestinal metastatic cancer pain treatment.
She is a Founder Director and Senior consultant pain physician at Synapse pain and spine clinic, Besant nagar.
Education:
- Dr Vanmathy did her MBBS from Stanley Medical College.
- She finished her MD in Anesthesiology at Thanjavur Medical College.
- She went on to become a Diplomat of the National Board (DNB) of India.
- She is a Diplomat of the European Society of Anesthesiology provided by European Society of Anaesthesiology, Brussels, Belgium, endorsed by the European Board of Anaesthesiology (EBA, UEMS) and the Council for European Specialist Medical Assessments (CESMA, UEMS).
- She did a Fellowship in Interventional pain management in the Back and Pain Centre in affiliation with the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA.
- Because of her passion for pain medicine, she underwent further training on pain management at Daradia Pain Clinic, Kolkata under Dr Gautam Das.
- She completed her Fellowship in Interventional Pain Management (FIPM) offered by Aesculap Academy, Germany
