About Doctor
Dr. P. Senthilnathan is a highly accomplished and skilled surgeon with extensive experience in gastrointestinal surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and surgical oncology. He completed his MBBS from PSG Institute of Medical Science & Research Centre, Coimbatore in 1998, and went on to pursue MS in General Surgery and DNB in General Surgery from Coimbatore Medical College in 2004. He also holds a DNB in GI Surgery from GEM Hospital & Research Centre, Coimbatore, in 2008.
Dr. Senthilnathan’s outstanding academic record and research contributions have earned him several awards and recognition throughout his career. He was awarded the Dr. Aasirvada Nadar Memorial gold medal for standing first in The Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University, Chennai – Final MBBS OG exam in 1998. In 2008, he received the Young Investigator Award at the 14th World Congress of Endoscopic Surgery in Japan for his research on Laparoscopic Choledochal Cyst Excision and Hepaticojejunostomy.
He has also been recognized by the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, for securing the first place in the DNB Surgical Gastroenterology Final Examination in 2008. Dr. Senthilnathan’s groundbreaking work in laparoscopic surgery includes being the first surgeon in the world to perform a live webcast of Laparoscopic Whipple’s surgery in April 2014. He was also awarded the Best Paper Award at the World Congress of IHPBA 2016, Sao Paulo, Brazil, for his work on randomized controlled trials of Laparoscopic and open Pancreaticoduodenectomy.
Dr. Senthilnathan has authored several chapters in books on laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy and reduced port laparoscopic surgery and has published many research articles in various national and international journals. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Surgeons of India, as well as a Fellow of Minimal Access Surgeons of India. With his expertise and passion for innovative surgical techniques, Dr. Senthilnathan continues to make significant contributions to the field of gastrointestinal surgery and laparoscopic surgery.
